Why Membership?

Gaelcon is a gathering of the Irish gaming community organised by the IGA, a voluntary group of people drawn from that community. Therefore, acknowledging attendees as members of that community simply makes sense.

In that spirit, all membership holders will also be fully paid up IGA members going into 2024 (normal cost 5 euro). There’s no obligation to participate with that membership but you are welcome to attend our AGM at Gaelcon to find out more about what’s planned in the coming year, participate in our quarterly IGA member meetings, and be elected to IGA posts.

For bookkeeping purposes, memberships officially run from November 1st 2023 to October 30th 2024

Gaelcon Weekend Membership

Our early bird reduced membership period is now over.

Membership is capped at €50 from the 1st of September to October 20th at which point we will cease the sale of online tickets. Subject to availability, ticket prices at the door will be €55.

Note on Day Rates: Day tickets online sales will be priced at €15 for Saturday or Sunday and €10 for Friday or Monday. Online ticket sales will stop on the 20th October and subject to availability will cost an extra €2.50 each at the door.

Concession Membership

Concession Membership is a flat €35 for the weekend and will remain so until online sales cease on October 20th. Concessions are available for example to the unwaged, senior citizens and students. We want Gaelcon to be inclusive so please use the concession if you feel you need to. Subject to availability, ticket prices at the door will be €40.

Under 18’s membership

Apprentice gamers (13-17 year-olds) will be €25 for the weekend. This price will be available until October 20th at which point online sales will cease. Subject to availability, ticket prices at the door will be €25.

Under 12’s are free but must be accompanied by an adult (preferably a Parent or Guardian) at all times.

Day Tickets

Individual day tickets are now available. €15 for Saturday or Sunday, €10 for Friday or Monday. This price will be available until October 20th at which point online sales will cease. Subject to availability, ticket prices at the door will be €17.50 for Saturday or Sunday, €12.50 for Friday or Monday.

Wargames

Wargame memberships will be a flat rate of €50 until October 20th at which point online sales will cease.

At the moment we only have the following Wargames available for the weekend though our team are working hard to expand the available options.

Warhammer 40k Membership

Warhammer 40k Membership is €50. As you are aware 10th edition and the competition rules changes are not yet available. We will update Warhammer members as soon as we have a clear and play-tested set of rules available.

Lord of the Rings Membership

Lord of the Rings Membership is €50.

Accommodation
